Nottingham Castle

This is Nottingham Castle.  The name Nottingham Castle is actually quite misleading because Nottingham Castle was much bigger and was destroyed in 1649.  The place we now call Nottingham Castle was built on the land where the real Nottingham Castle was built and is really just a house where lots of people like Dukes, Henry the second, William the Conqueror, and from the Robin hood story, King Richard The Lionheart lived.

The Nottingham Castle has a very nice and colorful yard.

The Nottingham Castle also has a great view.

Under Nottingham Castle there are lots of caves where they used to keep wine, have secret meetings, and sometimes soldiers would even sleep in the caves.  Some people lived in the caves.

These are examples of the type of protection some of the soldiers would wear and use.
